Academic and University Counselor
Every LA STEAM Academy student is paired with one dedicated counselor who supports them from enrollment through university applications. The same person, the whole way through. No handoffs, no re-explaining your child’s goals to someone new.

Our Approach:
9th Grade
A start-of-year meeting to set goals and select courses, plus a group session introducing the college planning process.
10th Grade
A mid-year check-in, plus two individual meetings to refine plans and begin preparing for standardized testing and extracurricular involvement.
11th Grade
Counseling becomes more frequent — regular check-ins, personalized guidance, structured assignments, and ongoing communication to ensure students are fully prepared for college applications.
12th Grade
Applications are submitted at the start of the year. Through the rest of 12th grade, your counselor helps track admissions decisions as they come in and coordinates sending your final transcripts. Additional sessions are available anytime a student or family needs support.
